Re: Tucson, Arizona Junkyard search
Last time I went junkyarding in Tucson, I was looking for and following a lead on a '39 Pontiac flathead 6 for my '38 GMC 1/2-ton. Shoulda took some pix but didn't even think about doing that.
On the other hand, I used to go to a shop on Speedway that had some nice flathead Ford stuff. I'm sure all that stuff is long-gone. Oh yeah, that was all back in '70. The VW dealer on Speedway told me that my '64 Bonneville convertible wasn't worth $100 w/o an air conditioner to any junkyard in Tucson. Geeze, go figure. At night, with the top down and when you went through an arroyo, it was plenty cool...right there in the arroyo. I miss Tucson.
