Divorced Adivce

Alright so the title is a bit misleading, there is no maritial issues here . Here's some background, I have an HD NV4500 which is about 35' From bellhousing face to the ujoint yoke. I want to mount it to a divorced np205 from an Internation truck (divorced, passenger side drop and huge u joint yokes). I want all of this to go into a '71 Blazer with a 3/4 drivetrain (hd44 front 14bolt FF).

So that's the background, here's the problem. The transfer case was originally mounted to the transmission in the Internation using a slip intermediate driveshaft. Its about 9' long which is much to long to mount to the NV4500; actually any length seems like it with be to long.

Can i hook the transmission to the transfer case directly with a u-joint? Will soft rubber mounts to the frame for both the case and transmission be enough?

Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
