CDOWNS is right. Mine is bolted on thru the same holes in the frame as the "Sport bumper" brackets are but there is a small 5" bead on the bottom of the bracket welding the brackets to the frame. I figure I'll just take a die cutter and slit those welds to remove the old bumper. It should be mentioned that GM never made those old, heavy bumpers and if the sport bumper option wasn't ordered our trucks just came shipped with no rear bumper at all. Those heavy bumpers were all aftermarket made by several companies all over the US and installed by dealers/owners and are all different.
