Which 16" rims (& tires) interchange with the 16.5" rims?
I have been trying to search for an answer to this question, but have not come up with anything specific...
The '79 G30 has the 8-lug rims with 800R16.5 tires (aka 8R16.5 / 8.00R16.5) with dual rear (duallies). The multi-part question is: Which Chevy rims interchange with the Chevy 8-lug (& did the Chevy 8-lug rims change after a certain year point)? What year range of Ford or Dodge possibly bolt up? And what tires combine with the rim to are the best interchange, avoiding the possibility of the duallies rubbing? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Bits of info that I have found: (?) The Chevy rims have small center hub openings when compared to other manufacturers (?) Ford center hub openings are larger, but at some point recently the 8-lug rims for Ford changed. Not sure if that means the later or the recent style is a possible choice. I can not find any specifications/measurements for the different 8-lug rims to compare... I would greatly appreciate any help on this! ~ Steven
