We got the tape out. We went back about 2 1/4 but I WOULDN'T do that again. I think 1 3/4" is where I want to go but looking at room to fan, I'm going to see what stock does for me on the next one.

Not the greatest picture but you can see the bolt head at the 2" - 2 1/2" point. That is the stock hole and I've lined the smart end up with the center of the mount.
