mixin' & matchin'
OK...based on recent experience with the Kansas State Highway Patrol. Kansas law is any vehicle purchased from out of state is subject to a vehicle inspection. They check the glove box spid, the door AND the frame VIN's. I asked about the numbers all matching. The nice troopers response was "If they don't match, we've got BIG problems". I didn't press for further explanation.
I've been thinking of doing a frame swap, maybe a cab too (typical newbie, mind swimming with ideas stuff). Have read many posts and build threads where this is done, or being done. What are the laws in your state? Is Kansas just more anal than others? Or all y'all just planning on taking the truck to your grave? Or going to specifically sell in-state, if you do sell? Do you move the glove box door to a new cab? The frame number is the tough one... Comments appreciated, John
