Project "Purple Ice" The spare parts truck build has begun.
We drug this 68 long step home from North Georgia a few months ago just after an ice storm. There were narrow, steep driveways and very steep roads that were ice covered in our path. After 2 hours, a 4x4 jeep, a winch and some pretty scarry moments we had it moved 600 ft down his ice covered drive and the sheet of ice they called a road in front of his house, and loaded on the trailer.
It sat here for a while and we decided to see if we could build it with using mainly old, but good, used parts we had in inventory. It was a good cab to start with with minimal rust. The front clip was pretty banged up so we are going to put some replacement metal up there. We had a good engine and transmission so we have converted it to a V-8/automatic instead of the missing 6 cyl./3 speed it had at some point in its life. We should hear it run by next weekend!
