Found some GREAT info on the air conditioning systems
I had to do some quick research this morning when board member Powell72 came over to pick up Fred to get the A/C charged. He needed to know what the original R12 charge amount was. In doing a few searches I ran across a couple of excellent posts on the subject.
The first link is from the chevytalk.org forums where our own gchemist is a moderator. This guy had a square body that had nothing but the evaporator and wanted to complete the system. Great write-up with a ton of info. About mid way through the first post is a link titled "A\C system capacity", which is a .PDF file from NAPA that lists the OEM refrigerant and oil capacities are for most all vehicles, and it appears to go up to 2004 or so. http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/sh...post/last/m/1/ The other is from thirdgen.org, and is a great detailed write up on converting from R12 to R134A. http://www.thirdgen.org/retrofitac
