radiator shroud question

Anyone put an aftermarket shroud on a 48? My 350 is all mounted and I am moving along with the build, however, ran into a little issue tonight. The front clip is off the car, engine mounted I put the radiator on so I could cut the hole in the new shroud and noticed the fan is positioned really low, infact the bottom of the fan is a little below the bottom of the radiator. I might be able to grind around on the radiator shell and get the radiator a little lower in so the fan would line up better. Or I could use an electric fan, but I would rather use my clutch fan. Any of you ran into this and have any advise? Thanks for the help
