M1006 CUCV ? CrewCab 2wd to 4wd Conversion

Well I've had a 1981 GMC 1ton 454ci crew 2wd dually for several months now, I couldn't decided if I wanted to drop it down or 4x4 it.

Think I've decided to go for a 4x4 srw conversion.. Love the look but any decent K30 around here goes for big bucks so I'll build my own (or at least try).

Parts truck is a 1984 Chevy M1008 1.25ton that ended up having a blown head gasket and mild rust that isn't worth repairing to me (GL gamble).

I plan to keep the 454 in the crew for a while but would like to do a cummins swap. Swapping the m1008 dog house and bed onto the crew, the th400 trans and np208 case, then obviously both axles and spring mounts.

Will find a small lift to fit my 37in radial TSLs that have been sitting in the polebarn forever. Gonna put them on 2pc hummer rims. I then plan to paint the crew in the 3 color mil spec paint to match all our other military toys.
