Yeah, she runs like a raped ape....just leaving some smoke behind her. I'm almost positive my rings have seen the end of days. Definitely nothing to do with the Vortec swap other than upping the compression on 40 year old rings.
I call it a success, really wish that the bottom end was a bit fresher. So Vortec heads will fit a small bore 283/307 without issue. They can be made to accept a higher lift without machining, although I recommend having them machined if you have them off and disassembled. My calibrated booty says that the seat of your pants gain is well worth it. ![]()
