Vortec
Hello,
I have a 73 gmc 350, 3spd manual w/low trany, 3/4ton daily driven truck. and i am planning on putting in a vortec 5700 in it. I am currious as to who did it and am just wondering any snaggs or tips that people had/have during the swap. I have a complete working 97 yukon that i'm taking everything out of. also i am not very good with computers and finding stuff on the internet. 1.Tranny hook up: I have been searching for a flywheel for the vortec that will work with my tranny, and found one company( http://www.streetperformance.com/par...96-198861.html ) but if anyone knows of other company's out there. I was also wondering if anyone knows if i could use a flywheel from a new truck that will match with my pressure plate clutch, or any other options such as a new style flywheel with new press. plate, with old style clutch (i don't know how many splines my input shaft is.) Just any ideas in general. 2. Wiring: i am going to try to see if i can make my own harness straight from the yukon, but if i run into problems, what are some good company's that make wiring harnesses (other than painless because they are $1000 and i refuse to pay that much for only wires) 3. fuel set up, i'm still playing with the idea of mounting the yukon tank in my truck, but what are some other options (i have a dual tank truck now, and it would be cool if i could keep both tanks functional) Thanks for any input that you guys can give me |
