What are 1965- 1966 Chevy Truck Shortbed Fleetside Worth?

I am thinking about buying a 65 or 66 shortbed fleetside
it is all original
283 3 on the tree
clear title
wood bed
1/2 ton
light blue with white top.
original paint. garage kept most of the time.
paint would clean up ok but needs paint
Custom cab
it will run an drive
rockers, cab corners, and fenders have no rust.
cant tell from the pictures, but it looks like it has rust on the outside above the front windshield. is that common? should I try to find a better truck?
I can get it for $1,000.
is this a good price and should I jump on it?
not looking to resell,
I just dont know if that rust issue above windshield is a deal breaker
