I was thinking more along the lines of the tires hopping on you, not the rearend moving in the frame. I would get the bags ASAP. You can do it fairly cheap if you start out with bags, tubing and schrader valves before investing in a compressor. I did that for a long time on my 89. Just carried a small tire compressor that plugs into the lighter to adjust for loads. I was using them more as a overload spring.
