All around tire questions
I'm having hell finding tire information and good prices and everything to do with tires.
I have a 72 gmc on an 83 suburban frame as some of you may have seen. The custom fabricated body lift on it is 6" and a 4" rough country suspension lift is going on too. Skyjacker's website lists that with an 8" suspension lift 38x12.5 r 15s fit. I'm going to have 10" of lift but 38s sound great to me. The truck is going to be mainly a weekend warrior. Probably mostly driven around town and such but I don't want to be scared of dropping off into a mudhole either because I'm not building a jacked up 4x4 to be cool. I wanna play in the mud. So I don't need boggers but I don't want an AT tire either. So here are my primary questions:
Basically I need a tire that isn't gonna break the bank (I may be dreaming but under $300 a tire?), wears half ass well, and does alright in the mud. I'm not gonna be in any mud comps or anything but there's a million places near where my family lives outside houston to take off into the woods or down a river bank and I wanna be reasonably confident with hitting the trails on the weekends that I'm home. I know this is probably a recurring discussion but help me out if you can. Thanks in advance, Doyle Last edited by tx72k15; 05-17-2011 at 08:40 PM. |
