FNG and a 66 Suburban

New guy here. I just picked up a '66 Sub project. It's pretty solid except for a little rust-through in the floors where they meet the rockers. The story goes that it's been parked since a wreck in the early 70s and has passed through 2 or 3 people since, each one added parts to the collection but no one ever actually did anything with them. Now I have lots of spare parts to help fund the project. Let me know if you see anything you need..

I've already scored a '78 chassis for the disc swap, the plan includes an LS drivetrain and a mild static drop. Plan to run stock, painted steelies with poverty/dog dish caps and blackwalls. It's going to be a (very) mild custom, daily driver that'll haul my gear, boards, bikes, dog and camping equipment. But probably not all at once..

Have a look:

The hood was jacked, I got lucky and found a '63 GMC hood that was decent. Planning on filling the seams and turn signal holes. The sheetmetal is just sitting there so please excuse the misalignment.

I get to practice my metalworking skills. That tail light corner has me worried though..

Did I mention spare parts?

I thought it was 4 but I have 8 complete sliders. Not sure about the presence of locks/latches yet, I haven't dug through them all. The big bonus is that the truck came with Steele Rubber for all for sliders!

Solid spare barn doors with all the latches hinges and striker plates, no windows. I might use the GMC grille if I can get that dent straightened out.

Fremont-built truck with factory air dash with radio delete, dummy light instrument panel with less than 29,000 on the clock. (I'll be looking for a panel with gauges)

Relocated ashtray and mysterious door-jamb pin-switch under dash.

The rear has the weirdest suspension I've ever seen. It rides a bit stiff but will be easy to lower with my chainsaw.

It needs a windshield, a driver's window, a tailgate handle and a pass. side hatch support.
I'm going to need some advice on the hatch; the hinges are very stiff and it won't close all the way. I have ordered the reprinted factory manuals so I won't be completely lost..

I'm looking forward to diving into this project and learning about these old trucks, I've wanted one of these old Suburbans since I was a kid and my neighbors had one. Only took 30 years..
