NAPA Front suspension parts - Quality?
I'm planning a front-end rebuild on my '99 2wd tahoe. There's some play in the steering and the ball joints, so I'm planning on replacing tie rods, ball joints, center link, idler arm and assembly, pitman arm and steering box. I am looking at off-the-shelf parts at NAPA. Couple of questions:
1. The "Master Ride Chasis" parts are considerably cheaper. For example their tie rods are under $20 each, but "Napa Chasis Parts" are above $50. I took a look at the tie rods and the MRC's are smaller at the joint, but they look like straight-up stock replacements. Anyone had experience with the cheaper parts? 2. Should I consider replacing the upper/lower control arm bushings? I'd rather not take these things off and replace the bushings if I could help it. Has anyone had experience replacing these and are they harder/easier than the older style metal bushings on the C10/C20's?
