1987 squarebodies were TBI, so that sounds like it would be ideal for you. Find a nice 87 K10, 20, or 30 with a 4 speed and a 350 and get the best of all worlds. Some common issues are cracks in the frame near the steering box. I think ORD sells a brace for the frame there to prevent it, it's quick and well worth it to put in. You can find pretty clean ones for about $3000 or so in my area, but to get a nice, lower-mileage model you'll pay $5-7K. All depends on how nice you want it to be.
