1971 C-20: What is a Good Brake Up-grade?
My 1971 C-20 has disks in the front and drums in the back. I want to be able to tow a 8000 trailer (with trailer electric brakes) and be able to stop quickly.
I noticed they have: 1) hydroboost conversions for the standard booster. 2) rear disk conversion kits for my drum brakes 3) yellow pad EBC pads 4) Aluminum Calipers 5) Slotted and holey disks Are any of these worth it? What will make my truck stop faster and tow more? These new, quick stopping, little cars with nervous drivers can make short work on my chrome bumper. I also need to be able to put a pallet of paving brick on the back of my truck (or hay) and stop in a reasonable distance.
