Made a new seat cover

Hi All,
The last couple of weekends I have been working on a new seat cover for the truck. The old cover was ripped and the springs were pushing into the seat foam at the base causing it to sag. Thought I would share what I did in case anyone is on a budget and wants to do it on the cheap. The whole project probably cost $65 for materials, a couple of weekends work and some basic sewing skill (I used my wifes).
We picked up all the material from the discount area of hancock fabrics. The following materials were needed:
vinyl $16
material $18
foam $15
mesh material $8
hog rings $5
I also reused some material and metal wire from an bed boxspring I had dismantled a while back.

The process was as follows:
1. remove hog rings and seats cover.
2. pick thread and break cover into its component parts to use as templates
3. I used the old wires from a boxspring to tie together the top of all the spring across the length of the seat so it would firm up the springs. I used cable ties to tie it together.
4. Lay the mesh material over the springs to stop the springs pushing into the seat foam.
5. I need to patch a bit of the foam as there was a dip on the drivers side so used a bit that was leftover from the seat cover to fill the void.
6. Next layed foam from the old boxspring over the seat foam.
7. Fit the new cover over the seat, pull tight and use hog rings to hold.
