If you get the CPP bolt in notches, they have an adjustable bump stop on them that you can set so the pumpkin won't hit the floor. I took out the bump stops and cut a hole in the floor for the pumpkin to come through...it's under the seat so no one can see it.
As for laying and keeping a back seat, it's usually not the stock rear bench they are using and it's pushed really far forward to it's not so tall. The best one I've ever seen with a stock bench in the stock location is gringoloco's previous rig.
