Suburban Third seat--help needed

i have an '88 suburban that did not come with a third seat. I have located a seat and brackets, but the guy I am buying it from says the brackets are welded in. is this true? i assumed they were bolted. i assume we could cut the floorboard around the old junker 'burb and either piece them in to mine or simply bolt them to the existing floor and cover with the carpet. need some help here. Any pics would also help. thanks in advance.
