Speaker pods on a budget
I wanted something bigger than the stock 3.5 speakers in the dash.
While custom pods are awesome, and the right way to do it, they fall under "luxury items" in my current budget. Sooooo...I went to the local wrecking yard and pulled the pods off the doors of a '94 up S-Series Blazer. This really isn't a step by step, but it gives you an alternate idea for mounting speakers. It isn't the prettiest, but this is a work truck, and does the job. Before: '87 Silverado kick panel Fitting the pod and removing(most) of the excess material: Installed: I need to buttom up some details and touch up a few scratches. For six bucks they do the job. |
