Fuel Filter Issues

I am finishing a 5.3 Litre swap into my 71 stepside and having some trouble with fuel filters clogging. I have a new tank, pump, all new lines, and running the filter/regulator set up from a corvette. when i first fired the engine i had good fuel pressure and the motor ran fine, as time went on (couple of days with various starts while working out bugs) i lost all fuel pressure and could barely get the truck to idle. I replaced the fuel filter and every thing was great, then drove the truck for about 15min. and same thing lost fuel pressure and could barely get it to idle and run.
