plugging holes in bed posts

My outside paint is excellent so need to be careful. I am redoing the inside of the box, SS angle strip bolt ons and new oak deck and a repaint of the inside of the box. Problem, the truck has a finished roll pan which doesn't allow you to get up in the stake pocket/vertical. To get the last nut on for the angle strip I will have to drill a hole from the outside into the vertical. Thoughts on interesting ways to plug that hole when finished. Have thought of bowtie, reflector, painted plug--any ideas?
