Driveshaft safety loop

Ok so I got the rear down (85 swb c10) and the driveshaft now hits the rear crossmember (the one under the bed, second row of bed bolts) I planned to raise it some then I remembered I had a 1 1/2 tube U-bend laying around and would work perfect as a safety loop. All great till I realized my driveshaft is 7/8" offset to the pass side. (9 inch ford pinion is not centered)
So my question to you guys is, what should I do?
Center the loop in the frame?
Center the loop on driveshaft?
Split the difference?

Thanks
