Advice needed on Transfer case upgrade

Hello Guys, I gotta ask for some more advice. I have a 66 Chevy K10 with a straight six, muncie 318 3 speed manual, and a divorced Rockwell T221. I never liked the loud whine from the T221, so I wasn't too upset when a bearing cap cracked, and I wasn't able to find a replacement. From what I've read on the forum, a popular thing to do is to switch to the NP 205. I've been told to look for a transfer case from an 1100 or 1200 international truck, but that sounds incredibly difficult to find. I have the Dana 44 front end, so i need a passenger drop. On to my questions.
1) Would it be hard to find a divorced NP205, so I can keep my Muncie 318, and what models of vehicles should I look for to make sure it will work right? (I'm worried about rotation direction and such)
2) Would I be better off replacing my transmission also, so I could use a mated NP 205? I really don't want to get away from the three on the tree.
3) Any other ideas?
Thanks for taking the time to help out.
