They work over a narrow range. He's pretty far out of range - not sure it is even contributing to taking care of the HC problem.

What do you mean they work over a narrow range? I ask because my wore out old motor was putting out 1300+ HC and the new cat brought it down to 13.

If you don't think a cat contributes to taking care of HC what do you think it does?
