Did you buy a 0-30ohm sender(correct)?...or a 0-60ohm sender(wrong)? If you got correct sender, pull up wire from sender going to gauge--lotsa times it is shorted to floor (as it runs below the sill mldgs. and under the floormat). To do a quick-check for this short, cut-and-replace that wire at end where it leaves tank AND at end where it enters gauge--all with one consecutive piece of new wire, leaving original wire 'loose at both ends'. If it works right, just "bury" this new wire. Gauge of 16 would be great!
