230 swapping in 700r4

Hello,
I am planning on swapping a 700r4 into my 64 with a 230. I have been reading many of the forums covering this swap and hope I understand it as much as I think I do.

I wanted to run my plans past those with experience and see if I am missing anything.

I acquired a 68 c10 crossmember and mount the flexplate and
correct yoke.

should I get a new radiator or is an external cooler enough?

I think I can modify the "linkage" off a 250 with an auto to actuate the TV cable.

I am undecided on how I am going to control the lockup and the brake switch cutout.

In the future if I wanted to swap in a small block would it be a straight swap?

Any advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
