55-59 lowered axle & front springs

It seems like mostly everyone steers away from the lowered straight axle and the lowered leaf springs. Are they that bad too go with. Im still building my 56 chevy pickup and already have the lowered axle. Im debating on removing some leafs or buying posies hopefully removing leafs will be fine. Can you guys give me some info on why to go this route or why not to go this route. I understand ifs and all that rides so much better. But for a weekend cruiser im leaning toward the axle and springs. I appreciate all your guys help
