14 Bolt Clicking Sound?
I've got a 1977 K10 lifted 8" with a full floating 14 bolt rear end out of a 79 K20. ORD disc brake kit, 4.10 gears and pretty sure it has a factory posi. Tires are 36x14.5 TSL Radials. The rear end started making a clicking, almost creaking, noise that I'm almost positive is coming from the driver side wheel area. Had the truck on the road for about 6 months and the sound just started a few days ago.
The sound is there even at very low speeds and only comes in when the truck is on the ground. I jacked up the rear end and spun it around. The wheel bearing feels solid as a rock. I just backed of the wheel bearing nuts and retorqued both of them and the noise is still there. Has anybody else run into this problem? I'm about out of ideas and these little noises drive me nuts worse than the white house. Ant helpful input would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.
