ORD HD X-Member & LSx Swaps

I don't believe I have ever seen anyone here mention the use of the ORD HD crossmember to alleviate OEM crossmember issues in 73-87 LSx Swaps. I thought I'd share the knowledge but in hopes that I don't repost something or its useless knowledge.

I've got an 82 K10 with an LS6 swap and ran into clearance issues with that OEM engine crossmember, so I did a bit of research and thought this would be useful to all people doing these kind of swaps.

I paired up the ORD HD crossmember made for BBC's with the LSx truck oil pan under the guidance of the folks at ORD, but before dropping the CTS-V oil pan I originally had from the donor vehicle/engine, I gave it a shot. Apparently the CTS-V oil pan will also fit and clear the ORD crossmember very nicely. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Hope this helps someone....

Eric
