Need Frame Advice - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm still trying to formulate a plan for this 54 GMC shortbed. Here are 3 pics of a cut frame that came with it. Does this look like anything that could be used for this project? From looking t the cut does anybody have any idea of the original intent?

The truck also came with a long rolling frame. The cab seems to fit on the long frame ok but the rear frame rails are about 10" narrower on the long one.

I don't really want to go the s10 route but I will if the frames I have here are not workable. Thanks, Rick
