Rebuilding the 3 on the Tree
Ok Folks, I have read the old threads but I still need some help from any of you few who still rock the column shifter. I got a 76 chevy that I pulled the 250 out and I am so close to dropping the the 260hp crate, but I wanted to rebuild the column. So I took it all apart and cleaned everything up but I have a few questions:
1. Does anyone have a diagram for the 73-87 columns? 2. I would like to replace the top and lower bearings for the column, I noticed they missing some of the small metal balls and to go along with that a washer was broken in pieces (see pix) I think I can find a replacement hopefully but I think the diagram will help big time. 3. Anybody have a clue where this clip and small washer go? (see pic) 4. Any other help or suggestions would be much appreciated, I have done some serious googling but it sounds like most ppl ditch the column shifter for hurst etc. The tranny I have is the Saginaw 3 speed. Thanks
