I have a 66 SWB, and I'm sure this topic has been addressed a million times before, but for some reason I can't really find the answer I'm looking for. Currently I don't have a driver side mirror, so I just bought one from LMC. Came with the arm, gasket, and screws.

Not sure I understand, but am I not supposed to use a washer and nut for the screws? Am I supposed to just drill a small pilot hole and screw them in without a nut inside the door? Have any of you guys done it this way with success?
