Unique (I think) bumper hitch
I was putting together an add to sell this hitch and thought it was possibly unique enough that folks on the truck general forum would be interested in what it looks like. I know this is not the place for adds but the information may be helpful and I have deleted prices etc. for this post. If your interested in purchase go to the ad area to view.
This hitch looks to be homemade. It was on my truck when purchased in the 1980's. It bolts to the two holes where the license plate bracket bolt on the top of the standard rear bumper. There is another hole through the back of the bumper, a clamp piece on the front of the bumper and a bolt through the first cross-member forward of the bumper. I do not recommend it but I have towed a Uhaul, tandem axle 12' trailer loaded (overloaded) with about 3K pounds of shop equipment, From Savannah to Maryland with this hitch. In the 90's Uhaul was not as particular about hitches as they are now. Anyway it did the job, handled OK and damaged nothing (except maybe the clutch when I backed up with the inertia brake holding the trailer). Zoom in on the truck rear bumper to see what it looks like installed.
