71 chev 12 bolt diff swap into 66 c20, panhard bar issues

I just finished installing a 71 chevy 12 bolt into my 66 3/4 ton, I have converted it to a 1/2 ton now. My issue is the panhard bar doesn't fit, the mounting location on the diff is on the rh upper part of the center housing, looks like a stud. What do most do to fix this, move the mount on the frame back to make it work, or do they heat and bend it to the proper location. The truck has 3" lowering coils on the back. The 2 pc driveshaft does it work with a newer 1/2 ton 12 bolt, I am hoping I can knock the driveshaft forward on the slip joint enough to connect the driveshaft, if not do most swap out for a single piece off a normal 1/2 ton 66 diff.
