LS water pump leak?

Does a leaky water pump on a F body LS1 engine show the same symptoms as an early small block???? The front lip of the cross member has antifreeze puddled in it but the only thing is there is also antifreeze on the bottom of the pan. I'm thinking it may be because of the way the pan is shaped in the front.... Is there anywhere else they leak? Do the hose fittings press into the pump??? Dunno. LockDoc
