frame and suspension painting?

i'm looking at a some of the drop member type suspension systems which all come in bare steel...and yes there is an option of powdercoating, but i can't justify the expense given that it will be 1. for a daily driver, and 2. i live in a non-rust issue state 3. it's not going to be a show car

the questions: will a product such as POR15 or similar chassis paint be sufficient in strength, longevity, and attractiveness (simple and clean) for the purpose of the entire chassis and the new metal pieces that i will be driving on everyday in Los Angeles traffic and then dusting it off on occasion for a cars-n-coffee event
