another oil pan question

OK, so i am a little confused. it would seem that everybody on this forum, and on the internet in general has their own opinions about what oil pan to use in any particular swap. it is getting harder and harder to wade thru the muck.

another member asked a similar question but was answered in a round about way that left me scratching my head, different application.

so this is the straight forward question that i hope can be answered nearly as straight forward.

I am a cheap skate and i have been working on this swap for going on 3 years now. gathering parts and info that i think would be useful to ME. and the dorman pan seems to be just about the best deal i can locate online.

the Dorman 264-331 oil pan appears to be an almost direct replacement for the GM 12628771 oil pan. it would appear according to the photos i have seen (because NO ONE does a direct comparison between the two) that the only difference seems to be that the GM pan has a little more baffling in it.

can anyone who has actual experience with the Dorman pan please chime in with your opinion. so far all i can find online has been about the GM pan.

Thanks in advance.
