68 c10 track width drop member options.
Hello all.
I'm new to this forum. But not new to trucks or putting them on the ground. Been at Gmfs since 06 but haven't been there in years. I'm getting a 68 c10 too build another truck. Lsx. Twins. Either coilovers n rear and shockwaves in front. Or just going all the way. Not sure yet. Either way its getting a drop member and Ive been trying to decide which way to go. I'm not keen on the kind that narrow the track width a ton. I mean I get it. It helps with turning on big wheels and being low. Which is cool. The chopping block kit says its 2.5" on each side. That's wayyyyy to much IMO. Porter I think k is factory location mounts with stock or 1" narrowed arms. Kp I think is narrowed with stock arms not sure how much. Thorbros is 2.25 overall. I think k its best to keep the arms as long as possible and narrow the mounting point like a inch on each side. Which is why I like the Thor bros. I was thinking of doing the Thor bros builder lit with factory style chillin block arms. But but the time I'm done its more expensive than a porter when you buy all the steering the shaft and sway bar. Blah blah. I plan on running a 18 in front 26 tall and a 18 or 20 out back that's 28 29 tall with some meat. As this truck will be about 700 ish HP. Since I'm not new to turbos and this truck will be everything I love in one package. Low with a pickup bed and some turbo power. Any thoughts or insight are greatly appreciated. I don't get on forums much. So if y'all want to follow it. I get it real soon. @haterdaves_garage Thank you so much fellas |
