Questions on Running boards for 47-53 long bed vs. short bed

Ok I'm trying to figure out how they measure for running boards. I had another thread but it was put in as a want add so it was locked so I'm changing the question. Is there a difference in the length of the running boards on a long bed compared to a short bed?

I was told that the bed length difference was behind the wheel wells but I was thinking that wasn't the case.

I measured between my fenders on my 1951 3600 long bed and the length is 72" if anyone has a short bed could you check the distance for me. As always thank you in advance.
