mcpherson68's bagged ls1 c10
After years of watching you guys build your trucks, I finally get to start mine! My project truck is a 1968 swb c10. I got this truck out of GA and it was pretty straight other than the typical rust areas. It had a 265 cid small block with a trubo 350 and 3.73 gears. I bought it in Sept of 2015 and started in Feb 2016. What was supposed to be a simple engine swap turned into a full blown rebuild. I bought a 350 4 bolt main out of a 72 C10 that was rebuilt about 4 years ago and when I started it up after installing it in my truck, it spun the #7 rod bearing. When that happened, I decided build the truck I have always wanted.
Here's what I am planning on doing to it. Engine: LS1 and 4L60E out of a donor 99' Z28 Camaro Rear End: I need help picking this out. It has 3.73s right now and I might just run with that for a while. Frame: Z the front 2 inches and C-notch the rear Suspension: 4 Way Air ride Wheels: Stock steelies or cragar series 69 painted white Paint: Matte Mint Green with gloss white bumpers wheels and roof Interior: Either a mid 90s silverado 60/40 split bench or K5 Blazer seats with center console I just want a simple and clean daily driver on air ride. I live in FL so AC is required. Here are some pics. The first is of the truck when I got it, then the engine swap with the spun bearing and then it gets into rust repair. I teaching my self how to weld in panels and do paint and body work so if you see I'm doing something wrong, please call me out. |
