60-63 vent window question

Okay, so I installed the new vent window rubber, and I'm re-installing the vent window in the door.

On all 8 example doors I have here, the vent window rubber sits tucked into the door channel, leaving a small gap between the rubber and the door, so that's how I've installed my window.

I'm wondering, though, if the rubber flap is supposed to go OUTSIDE, sealing the gap that would otherwise exist.

The factory manual provides no guidance here. Can anyone confirm how this is supposed to be installed?

Thanks,

B
