1966 Chevy newbie

Hi y’all! I just inherited a cream colored 1966 Chevy stepside short bed truck. It is in mostly original condition and has been barn stored, but is nonetheless in shabby condition. (Everything seems to work, but the upholstery in the cab is pretty chewed up in the middle from a mouse who made it his home after my dad passed.)
I am a complete beginner but dream of bringing it back to life as a way of processing losing my Dad and in honor of him. Thought this board might be a good starting place. I already ordered the 500 pg manual. What other words of wisdom do you have for me before I launch into this adventure?
Also, how hard will it be to replace that seat?
Thanks and look forward to getting to know you all!
