Mine touched before I set it down with the weight on it. The arc of the lower control arm pulls the lower out a good bit. Diver when you buy good shocks you have to pay a bit more. I have had the cheap shocks on trucks and you can tell the difference. First set on my 66 were the KYB's everyone sells. The were poorly suited and worn out in 15,000 miles. I have had these on my 66 for about 40,000 miles and they still feel good.
