Seat Selection Advice Needed: Sufferer of Analysis Paralysis
I'm months from needing to sort this out (or longer), but I need some direction non-the-less.
Truck Project: '62 K10 Long/Step resto-mod. 350, 4spd OD, NP205, Disc-brake open knuckle Dana 44 front, GMC Dana 44 rear. Frame off, but with light patina paint job, because I'm going to use the truck for hunting, camping, daily driving, and light off-roading, so if the paint gets hurt I won't be upset. I will spend a LOT of time behind the wheel of this truck. So here is my question for the interior: I need advice on seat selection. Gas tank relocated, and will have a '50s F1 Ford storage tray behind the seat for ratchet straps, gloves, and a tool roll. Will also have ax mount, and small shovel mount (Pioneer tools). I have two dogs, so one of them is often with me. Here are my seat options (and I currently have all of these... yes, I have a problem) Tilt-forward stock bench seat, with canvas or black vinyl seat cover, or black vinyl with canvas insert. Suburban 60-40 split bench. 60-'66 Panel buckets '67-72 low-back buckets with factory center console with cup holders. I would modify the Suburban bench to flip forward, using the flip bench's hardware. I would also modify the low-back buckets to flip foward. The low-backs have the advantage of the center console with cup holders. I use those in every vehicle I have, pretty extensively. But they DO become a catch-all. I could do away with the console and make cup holders in the high-hump trans tunnel. I could also use the factory '67-72 center console on top of the trans tunnel, turned around backwards like I did with a vintage console/cup holder in my '62 Suburban. Looking for opinions on functionality and driving comfort. Thanks!
