1970 C20 Long Bed Fleetside - Partial Restoration
. .
Started off with a solid driving truck and nice body... Here are the early days of restoration. ![]() Body looked nice enough for an easy painting. ![]() Had some older GM Sapphire Blue paint. Forget whether it was medium or dark blue... ![]() Painting the bed. ![]() Ran out of paint, had to get more... ![]() Well, paint I had was too old to match. No longer made type... ![]() New paint looks nice, but very noticeable difference. Single stage paint used. ![]() Engine was a decent runner. ![]() Decided to do a visual inspection. ![]() TJA engine stamp and date codes indicate 1973 350 truck engine. ![]() 4 bolt main. ![]() Engine looked very nice inside. Painted it up... ![]() Installed Weiand intake and tall open element air cleaner. ![]() Decided to go with the long water pump and newer engine brackets. ![]() Got the front end back on. Came with the 1971 grille... ![]() Looks nice from both ends. ![]() Bought a couple new chrome dash parts and new carpet. ![]() Used a 1973 Monte Carlo steering wheel. ![]() Engine after a couple years of driving. ![]() All and all, came out to be a much better looking truck. ![]() Thank you for your interest, Bob Last edited by HotWheelsFan; 09-19-2020 at 01:43 PM.
