66 speedometer cable routing and grommet install - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

From the kit I have of firewall grommets that aren't identified I am pretty sure this is the speedometer grommet. I assume you cut a slit in it and separate the grommet and slide the cable through and pop the grommet into the hole in the floor? Its been a while since I took this apart and this is one of the things I didn't photograph the removal of. I think the clip on the outside of the firewall will hold the cable once I have it installed?
